It is very easy with SimpliSafe, how to install and set up your system. SimpliSafe is designed to be self-installed. However, you can also call a SimpliSafe professional to come and do the installation for you.  Here is a handy guide to help with the installation process.

Base station

This is the control center for all your SimpliSafe products. To install, you need to place the base station in a central location with an accessible power outlet. It should be placed on an elevated surface, where it stays out of the way. All you need to do now is plug in the base station and switch it on.

Wireless keypad

Place the wireless keypad near the door or close to the Base Station. Stick the keypad with the adhesive strip at the chosen location. To install, press the battery tab to switch on the device, the keypad will automatically detect the base station. Once the Base Station is located, you are prompted to set up a master pin.

Motion sensors

To install, place the motion detectors at your desired location. Avoid placing the sensor near electronics or heaters/AC.

Entry sensors (doors/windows)

These sensors detect activity at your doors and windows. You will have to install your sensor one at a time. Place each sensor at your desired location and follow the installation prompts given by the keypad. Name the sensors and check if they are placed in sync before sticking them in the desired place.

Smart lock

Remove the existing deadbolt in your door and prep the area to install the smart lock. Install the lock and the PIN pad. Connect the smart lock to your keypad to activate.

Panic button

To install, place the panic button at your desired location. To test, hold the button for two seconds and see if the device lights up.

Smoke detector

To install, place the smoke detector at your desired location. Make sure you know which smoke alarms are best.

Siren

To install, remove the battery activation strip and hold down the enter programming button. Enter your pin on the keypad three times in a row; the siren should connect with the Base Station. Place the siren in the desired location using the adhesive strip.

SimpliCam

To install, take the camera out and plug it in. Place the camera at your desired location.

Freeze sensor

To install, place the freezer sensor on the wall close to your home’s thermostat or plumbing that is susceptible to freeze.

Water sensor

To install, place the water sensor near your main plumbing or bathroom area to detect any problems.

3Wi-Fi Setup with SimpliSafe

You can easily connect your SimpliSafe home security system to your home Wi-Fi to ensure software updates for your system and added connectivity with the web app. You will need your SimpliSafe Keypad to connect your system to the Wi-Fi.

  • Step 1: Press the menu button on your keypad and enter your 4-digit pin.
  • Step 2: Enter system settings and navigate to the Wi-Fi section. Give the keypad a moment to detect all the available Wi-Fi networks.
  • Step 3: Scroll through the list to find the Wi-Fi network you need and use the right rocker to select it.
  • Step 4: Once you select your desired Wi-Fi network, key in your Wi-Fi passcode. Once connected to the Wi-Fi, your SimpliSafe Base Station will try and connect to the network, and the keypad will let you know if the process was successful. If the connection request is unsuccessful, you are redirected to verify or re-enter your password.
